Brian began attending Charity in 1980 at the age of eight (three years after Dr. Greg Estep started the church). He received Christ as Savior on September 4, 1988 after attending youth camp at Bill Rice Ranch in Tennessee.
Brian served in the active U. S. Army from 1991-1994, and active U.S. Army Special Forces from 1995-1997 & 2002-2003. In the Army National Guard, he served as a Special Forces Sergeant in 19th SFG(A) from 1995-2003; the Senior Drill Sergeant in the Richmond, Indiana Army Reserves from 2003-2005; and a Team Sergeant for 19th SFG(A) from 2005-2007. Brian took a direct commission from MSG (E-8) to 1LT (0-2) in December 2007, and became the Battalion Chaplain for 2/19th SFG(A).
As a civilian, Brian majored in Criminal Justice at Sinclair College from 1997-1999, and worked as a police officer for the city of Dayton from 1999-2003. He began teaching Sunday school and preaching in 2001, and surrendered to God's calling to preach shortly thereafter. Brian was appointed as the Assistant Pastor in November of 2002 and left the police department in September 2003, when he was added to the full time staff. Favorite Passage of Scripture: Proverbs 3:5 & 6; "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths".
Availability: Brian has taken many opportunities to speak at churches from a Christian soldier, minister, and law enforcement perspective. Currently serving as a U.S. Army Chaplain to the men and families of the Special Forces Community, Brian spent 10 years as a Special Forces operative, two years as Drill Sergeant, and four years as a Supply Specialist/Armorer. Brian also worked for nearly five years as a police officer for the City of Dayton, Ohio. The combined service in the military and police force has given Brian a unique background by which God uses to impact other soldiers, peace officers, and churches. The U.S. Army recruiting office recommends him for motivational speaking in public and Christian schools. If you are interested in having him as a guest speaker at a school or for a Veteran's, military, or law enforcement service/appreciation day, please call the church office and speak with him personally. (937)426-7444. There is no charge for services.
