Deaf Ministry
CBC Deaf Ministry began in May of 2004 with the help of Missionary Maria Podbereski (missionary to the deaf). Our mission is to "Reach the Community and the World" with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In order to fulfill our mission (the Great Commission that Jesus gave us-Matthew 28:18-20), we must also reach the deaf community! We are doing this through visitation and follow-up, Deaf Concerts and advertisement, personal witness, and current, on-going training for those who would like to learn sign language for ministry work.
Our desire is to cultivate, grow and mature a deaf population in our church, that will branch out and begin it's own church in our community.
According to Miami Valley clinical psychologist Robert Basil, Psy.D, "There are some 4,000 deaf people in the Dayton area and an estimated 230,000 in the United States - roughly one percent of the population."- Jan. 14, 2005
